Are you ready for a new challenge in an outstanding provision…?
It’s remarkable how the small things in life make the biggest of differences. Take behaviour for instance. It is no secret that promoting positive behaviour makes more than a vital contribution to pupil achievement and success in later life. And this is where you come in….
We are looking to recruit two teachers, preferably with Key Stage 2 experience or the ability to quickly pick up the Key Stage 2 curriculum. The roles are based at Pathways in Aylesbury and The Oaks in Amersham, but there will be some travel to other sites as required as we are all part of one PRU team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the different provisions offered by the PRU and will give you a chance to develop and consolidate excellent behaviour management skills. We have high expectations of our pupils and, as a class teacher you will need to be adaptable and build the curriculum around pupils and their needs.
Working at the PRU is not always a bed of roses, but then nothing worthwhile achieving ever is. Each day brings different challenges and that is why it is so rewarding to work here. You will receive all the support and training you need from our friendly team. Once fully trained you will have opportunities to work with colleagues in mainstream schools as part of our outreach service.
Do you have what it takes?
Our pupils enjoy working with staff who take the time to get to know them, challenge them academically and support them with their emotional well being and provide them with the opportunities to shine. Take a look at the attached note from our pupils and see what they want in their teacher – are you that person?
If you would like to come and see what we do, a visit to one of our sites is highly recommended. Please telephone to make an appointment. Alternatively we are holding two “come and meet” us drop in sessions where you will be able to talk to the team about what it is like to work at the PRU. Tea and biscuits will be provided! These will be at The Oaks in Amersham from 3-5pm on Tuesday 8th October and at Pathways in Aylesbury from 3-5pm on Wednesday 9th October. If you would like to drop in and see us, please let us know as soon as you can which date/session you prefer.
If you are innovative, motivated, flexible and resilient and you have a proven track record as a successful teacher with strong behaviour management practice, then we would like to hear from you. We believe in giving all of our staff opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be a success so we are also happy to hear from you if you are in the early stages of your career as a teacher, with the drive and passion to develop the attributes we look for in our teachers. These are a full time, permanent role; however, if you are the right person for us then we may consider flexibility about a part time position.
